Born into an artistic family, Raffaella Gal’s formative years took place in a wonderfully creative environment that nourished the imagination.
You could say being a creator is in her DNA. As the daughter of a Children’s Illustrator/ Graphic Designer father and Italian Fashion Designer mother, Raffaella was raised into the business of creativity.
Raffaella has established herself within the corporate event and design space, working with many well known Canadian and International brands.
An intrinsic trait of the creative mind is that it simply can’t stop creating. Ultimately it is all about touching the human senses.
For Raffaella this can manifest itself as graphic design, events, making furniture or interior design. Ultimately, it all comes from the same place.
Finally, let’s not forget about that Italian side. It is a culture exploding with creativity that touches every sense.

“I still remember being a little girl and going to work with my Dad at the CBC. He was a one-man graphics department, creating all the graphics for The National News in a pre-computer world of Letraset and Pantone paper. During his ‘free time’ he was an award-winning Children’s Book Illustrator, even using my sister and I as models for his illustrations.”
Formal art education began in Toronto at Claude Watson School of the Arts and later at Ontario College of Art and Design University (OCAD).Raffaella has established herself within the corporate event and design space, working with many well known Canadian and International brands.

Now for something completely different.
I’ve turned into my father and it happened when I walked off that plane!
This all started when I decided to surprise my sister and spontaneously booked a trip to Italy. It was quite some time since I had been to my birthplace and it was time to return. Being back and getting a chance to once again experiencing the culture during a different time in my life I was able to understand my father’s obsession with Italy. Sure, he was an artist and a foody, so it clearly made sense that Italy was his paradise, but it was more than that. I came to realize it was not an obsession for the fantasized dolce vita as I once believed but rather his simple desire for balance, good health and just getting back to the basics.
Although he achieved his dream, he unfortunately never had the time to enjoy the fruits of his labour and it was short lived…he passed soon after his retirement. Time is one of the most valuable gifts we have, and I realized then and there how finite it is…so I did a bold move. I placed an offer on a property the day before my return to Canada. I left one offer on the table and left it to the universe.
It’s been 3 years since I placed the offer and became a proud owner of an apartment in Suvereto and it was then I started my Tuscan renovation journey. I am currently at the tail end of my 4th property make over. It has been an adventure with many ups and downs and a tremendous learning experience. I am glad to say I have finally found my dream team and built my Italian “creative hive”.
Since starting this venture I have been asked many questions regarding the process and how to navigate through the notoriously difficult Italian bureaucracy while avoiding being ripped off. It can be scary and overwhelming as an outsider. I am excited to announce a new consulting service to help others achieve their own Italianf real-estate dreams.
